Day 8 - 30th May 2008
Still in Paris
After a full breakfast, we check-out and left our baggage in the same hotel and continued to explore Paris.
Cathedrale Notre Dame
The name Notre Dame means "Our Lay" in French. Notre-Dame de Paris, the Paris Catholic cathedral, is one of the most impressive and well-known monuments of Paris. Came across a helpful man trying very hard to snap a photo for us.
Sacre Coeur or Montmarte
There are many steps to climb in order to reach. The Sacre-Coeur Catholic was built at the end of the 19th century at the top of Montmarrte hill in Paris. Its famous white architecture dominates the city, and offers a wonderful view. The nearby streets of Montmarte are full of artists and restaurants.
Sit on the steps leading down to Paris and listen to the many street musicians.

Opera Garnier
The Palais Garnier, also known as the Opéra de Paris or Opéra Garnier or Grand Opera House, but more commonly as the Paris Opéra, is a 2,200-seat opera house in Paris, France. A grand landmark designed by Charles Garnier in the Neo-Baroque style, it is regarded as one of the architectural masterpieces of its time.
Construction of the opera building started in 1862, but it wasn't completed until 1875, partly because an underground lake was discovered during construction. The small lake still exists under the opera building. It was the hiding place of the 'Phantom of the Opera' in Paul Leroux's famous play.....unable to verify it as we managed to see the just the first level.
La Mosque de Paris
Visited this mosque with the help of a Russian Muslim lady by the name Mariam who showed us the way. We were in the Metro when an announcement in French. Sensing that we are in lost, she told us that we need to change train as there is problem with the current train. We followed her around and it was a long distance and we walked and walked till my daughter get her stomach cramp. Alhamdullillah, we managed to reach the mosque and it was packed with people as it was Friday. Everybody and sitting by the courtyard listening to the sermons. I did not managed to pray in the mosque and I did not bring my praying attire, what a waste of opportunity.
The Mosquée de Paris (Paris Mosque) is a beautiful 20th-century mosque in Paris that closely resembles those of Marrakesh.

Completed our Paris explore, we headed back to Prince Albert Hotel to collect our baggage and head to Gare De Lyon. Reached Kerzers at about 8.00pm and Faritha's hubby fetched us home.
I'm telling myself that "I'll be back, Paris!"
