9) Day Nine - 31st May 2008
JUNGFRAUJOCH - TOP OF EUROPE

Hahaha that's more looked like a "Stranded Whale of Jungfraujoch"

ICE PALACE

Some Korean actor selling watches at Top of Europe.

Today, for the first time in my life I get to see snow. Macam jakun gitu....
As per train schedule, it need two hours up and two hours down from Interlaken OST. From Interlaken OST we change train at Lauterbrunnen. This train had the special rail called “cogwheel” which help to propel the train up the steep mountain.
We're lucky today and I salute the inventor of Cogwheel and the people who sacrificed their lives to build this railway by digging through these mountains in the early 1900s. It were due to these people that enables me to see, touch and feel the REAL SNOW!! No need to climb the snowy mountain by myself (impossible for me to do that at this age hahah)
Jungfrau or Jungfraujoch is named “Top of Europe” because it is the highest train station in Europe.

There is TV programme in multilingual language inside the train to explain the making of Jungfraujoch.
The air is very thin, I had difficulty in breathing The temperature outside is around -4 or -5 degree Celcius… but i came prepared with thermos flask filled hot coffee. Here I promised my daughter that I will exercise regularly and here too I cried my heart out thinking of my father and here too I experienced how he often said that he is tired even when he is eating due to his breathlessness. May Allah blessed his soul, Amin.
Entering the Ice Palace is not as freezing as i thought, but wow the surrounding is too beautiful to describe.
Back to Interlaken, I actually wanted to stroll around for the last time, but unfortunately my faritha get tired of waiting for us, as she is having migraine attack.
